She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Shepherd and Leona Shepherd (Beenken); her son Ricky Dean; her siblings, Wes Beenken (Sharlene), Violet Christensen (Buford), Foster "Bing" Myers and Kenneth Shepherd; her brother-in-law Dalton Francis; her grandson Alex Arndt-Kohlway; her nephews, Frank and Greg Francis; and her great-nephews, Lance Beenken and Sam Pederson.
She is survived by: her husband Robert "Bob" Arndt; her siblings, Charlene Francis and Gail Schroeder (Jim); her stepdaughters, Pam Olson (Richard) and Sandra Arndt-Kohlway (Chris); her grandsons, Nathan Olson, Brett Olson and Nick Arndt-Kohlway; and her sisters-in-law, Sandy Myers and Mary Shepherd.
In lieu of flowers and customary remembrances, memorials may be left in Darlene's honor to Faith Baptist Church, Mason City, IA.
