She was predeceased by: her father Ralph Askeland Sr.; her parents-in-law, Kenneth and Callie Sullivan; her grandparents, Arthur, Ovedia Askeland, Fritz and Marjorie Legler; and her brother-in-law Terry Jepsen.
She is survived by: her mother Katherine Askeland (Legler); her husband Patrick Sullivan; her granddaughter Madeline; her children, Miranda Kruse (Mark) and Patrick Jr. Sullivan (Summer) of Mason City; her granddaughter Margaret Kruse of Mason City; and her siblings, Ralph Jr. Askeland (Hilda), Connie Menuey (Steve), Carmen Jepsen, Duane Askeland (Cindy), Bradley Askeland and Kimberly Askeland. She is also survived by aunts, an uncle, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Memorials may be directed to the family to be used to spread Carol's love of Christmas through Toys for Tots and other organizations.
