With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Rebecca Martin of Martelle, Iowa, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Rebecca left this world on February 14, 2025 at the age of 98, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Hilbert Long and Zella Long (Benedict); her husband Wayne Martin; her daughter Marilyn; her grandson Brian Youngmon; and her siblings, Vernon Long, Dorothy Taylor, Betty Fitch, Marjorie Dolan and Nancy Marolf.
She is survived by: her children, Paul Martin of Veneta, Shirley Barklind (Daniel) of Grants Pass and Darryl Martin (Deb) of Marion, Iowa; her grandchildren, Gidget, Todd, Tadd, April, Dwayne, Dawn, Jason, Eric and Kiyan; her siblings, J. B. Long (Marjorie) of San Antonio, Texas and Jo Bennett of Tipton, Iowa; and her siblings-in-law, Jeanette Long of Eldridge, Iowa and Donald Koppenhaver of Mount Vernon, Iowa. She is also survived by 18 great grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at 715 10th Ave SW, Mt Vernon, IA 52314. A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Linn Grove Presbyterian Church, 2000 Linn Grove Road, Mount Vernon, Iowa 52314.
