He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Gary Hillygus and Carol McLain (Cooper); his wife Tanya Brooks; his children, Staci Scavo (Justin) and Hunter Hillygus of Waukee; his granddaughter Elena Scavo; his siblings, Keri McCoy of Tama, Jason Hillygus (Krista) of Republic, MO and Joel Hillygus (Sunshine) of Durham, NC; his nephew Jake; his nieces, Grace and Gabrielle; his brother-in-law Mark McCoy; and his parents-in-law, Hildi and Merrill Brooks.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Iowa River Hospice.
