It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Randy Abernathy of Marshalltown, Iowa, who passed away on January 25, 2023, at the age of 69, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald Abernathy and Reva Nichols; his wife Julie Johnson; his grandson Joel Abernathy; his sister Deana Porter; and his siblings-in-law, Burnis and Mary Jane Johnson.
He is survived by: his children, Jenny Zindel (Justin) of Des Moines, IA, Scott Abernathy (Beverly) of Mapleton, IA and Anthony Angel of Marshalltown, IA; his grandchildren, Troy (Haley), Mark (Laura), Abigail (Morgan), Jacob (Kyndal), Justin (Kylee), Kayden, Corbyn, Keaghan, Mya, Moniya, Raphael and Ryleigh; his great grandchild Ruby; his close friend LeaAnn Hitchings; and his siblings, Greg Abernathy (Naida), Glena Clarke (Robert), Tarol Black (Clayton) and Brandy Stacker (Gary). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
