He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Francis and Mary Elizabeth Upah (Reitzler); his wife Beulah Tish; and his siblings, Buster Upah, Bernard Upah, Robert Upah, Jimmy Upah, Carolyn Albano, Jane Hanzelka and Lois Ann Vitek.
He is survived by: his daughters, Becky Powell of Columbia, MO, Karen Swenson (Jerry Fuller) of Toledo and Pam Rickertsen (Dave) of Clinton; his grandchildren, Andy Patterson of Atlanta, GA, Kellie Burger (Bryan) of Columbia, MO, Brittany Powell (Jake Bowman) of Columbia, MO, Erin Patterson (Jeff Lopshire) of Eldridge, Rochelle Childs (Alex Strehle) of Clinton, Cody Childs (Courtney Ubben) of Des Moines and Nina Anderson (Bryan) of Toledo; his great grandchildren, Brenden, Christopher Burger, Remington Bowman, Henry Lopshire, Braydan, Raena and Beckett Anderson; and his sisters, Pauline Mensing of North Dakota, MaryLou Van De Walle of Grinnell and Linda Dubois of Louisiana. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
