He was predeceased by: his parents, Gertrude Serafin Pete and Toney Pete of Mary's Catholic High School; his former wife Margery; and his siblings, Evelyn Nethery and Stephen Pete.

He is survived by: his wife Corinne DeBo Pete; his children, Karen Mroz (Steve), Matthew Pete (Cindy), Susan Gaffney (David) and Kristina Pete-Swanson (Stacia); his grandchildren, Thomas Mroz (Stacey), Kathryn Western (Mike), Sarah Bergeson (Adam), Jacob Mroz (Courtney), Annie Vander Weerdt (Tanner), Justin Laffoon (Kierstyn), Tony Pete, Andrew Gaffney (Emily), Megan Gaffney, Shea Swanson and Eavan Swanson; his stepchildren, Teri Wright (Elmo), Pam Ontiveros (Chris), Matt DeBo (Colleen) and Cindy Steckel (Greg); and his pet Molly. He is also survived by 16 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
