He was predeceased by: his parents, John Metz and June Metz (Clyde); and his wife Janie. He is survived by: his children, Nikole Gast (Eric) of Nora Springs, IA, Michelle Smith of Osage, IA, Michael Metz (Jenn) of Rapid City, SD, Brad Dunshee (Katherine) of Osage, IA and Shanna Elza (Slater) of Amarillo, TX; his grandchildren, Luke Huebshch, Erica, Cael Gast, Wesley, Ella, Janie, Finn Smith, Piper, Sheriff, Adeline Metz and Isacc; his pets, Isacc, Adeline Metz, Sheriff, Piper, Finn Smith, Janie, Ella, Wesley, Cael Gast, Erica and Luke Huebshch; his great grandchildren, Lincoln and Jameson; his siblings, John Metz (Joanne), Shane Metz (Mary), Tammy Washington (Jo) and Logan Metz; and also Jon Smith.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, December 29th 2024 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Cedar Valley Seminary (200 N 7th St, Osage, IA 50461).
