He was predeceased by: his parents, Lonnie, Sr. Barnes and Doris Tompkins Uhde (Tompkins); his brother Mark Uhde; his parents-in-law, Maxine and Frank Tichy; his brothers-in-law, Nic Mancieri and Loren Roth; his nephews-in-law, Mario Miles Mancieri and Jay Nicolas Mancieri; and his pet Manda.

He is survived by: his wife Beth Tichy; his son Chad Barnes (Sara); his grandchildren, Landen and Evan of Phoenix, AZ; his sons, Brandon Barnes of Chicago, IL and Taylor Barnes; his grandchild Bria Marie of Marshalltown, IA; his siblings, Sue Bunting (Don) and Steve Barnes; his siblings-in-law, Jacki Bolar (Gary), Linda Roth, Robin Mancieri and Robert Mancieri (Sally); and his pet Bentley Franklin Barnes.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Grimes Farm (2353 233rd St, Marshalltown, IA 50158).
