He was predeceased by: his parents, Byrl Smith and Thelma Smith (Hardin). He is survived by: his wife Caryle Jean; his sons, Robert Smith (Monica) of Marshalltown, Eric Smith (Deborah) of Melbourne and Jared Smith of Marshalltown; his grandchildren, Lucas, Hope Smith and Justin Rieks; and his siblings, Nettie Dibbens, Curt, Lowell, Donald Smith and Illeana Manship. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
