He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Douds and Mildred Douds (Goecke); his brother Kimerick; and his in-laws, Don and Marcella Lane.

He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Stephanie (Chad) and Justin (Angela); his brother Sam; and his aunt Eleanor Rowden. He is also survived by three grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, his precious great-granddaughter born on January 19, three step-great-grandchildren.
