It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Harriet Elaine Groth of Marshalltown, Iowa, who passed away on March 21, 2025, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Beaty and Palma Beaty (Durby); her husband Larry Groth; her sons, Steve Groth and Greg Groth; her parents-in-law, Louis and Emma Groth; her brother John Beaty; and her great grandchild Iris Benda.
She is survived by: her children, Sandy Benda (Larry) and Stan Groth (Leslie); her grandchildren, Ashley Benda, Greg Benda (Courtney), Jacob Groth (Sarah) and Haley Upah (Sam); her great grandchildren, Gabbie, Zoey Benda, Gavin, Elsie Groth, Evelyn, Bennett and Ava Upah; her siblings, Helen Maddick and Larry; and her brother-in-law Marvin Groth (Susan).
Visitation was held on Thursday, March 27th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home (1209 Iowa Ave W, Marshalltown, IA 50158). A funeral service was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the Our Savior Lutheran Church (3001 S 6th St, Marshalltown, IA 50158). A graveside service was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at the Rose Hill Memorial Garden (602 Iowa Ave E, Marshalltown, IA 50158).
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Hatti's name may be directed to Iowa River Hospice, where she served on the board and lovingly volunteered, or to her church, Our Savior Lutheran.
