He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Harrell and Ellie Harrell (Carpenter); and his siblings, Roger Harrell, Thomas Harrell, Walter Harrell and Frances Perkins.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Kay Spencer; his children, Jeff Harrell, Steven Harrell, Stephanie Marsh-Galloway, Pam Briggs (Tony), Lisa CaVan and Susan Steen; and his sister Ruth Hicks. He is also survived by twenty-four grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren.
