He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Andrew, Cecilia Polt, Roy and Mary Herbolsheimer; and his parents-in-law, John and Patricia Jorgensen.

He is survived by: his mother Lois Polt (Herbolsheimer) of Pierce; his wife Theresa Rose Holm (Jorgensen) of Marshalltown; his stepdaughter Kristen Clara Holm of Spirit Lake; his father Roger Polt; his brother Jake Polt (Elise); his nieces and nephews, Eden of Victoria, Minnesota, Royston of Victoria, Minnesota and Vivienne of Victoria, Minnesota; his siblings, Anthony "Tony" Polt (Christy) of Marshalltown and Amanda Haspert (Joe); his nephews, Henry of Nowthen, Minnesota, George of Nowthen, Minnesota and William of Nowthen, Minnesota; his sister Addie Bane (Ryan); his nieces and nephews, Ashlyn of Marshalltown and Reed of Marshalltown; his sister-in-law Deborah Trickey (Brad) of State Center; his nieces, Jessica of Ames and Emily of State Center; his siblings-in-law, Mark Jorgensen of Marshalltown and Cynthia Anderson (Larry) of Marshalltown; and his nieces and nephews, Shelby of Melbourne, Jordan of Des Moines, Jaydon of Marshalltown, Lacey and Logan of Marshalltown. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the St. Francis of Assisi - St. Henry's Church (221 W Olive St, Marshalltown, IA 50158). A vigil service was held on Wednesday, March 12th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A funeral service was held on Thursday, March 13th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Fritz's name may be directed to the Knights of Columbus Council 966 or to the family for the purchase of a bench at the cemetery.
