He was predeceased by: his parents, Amado Soto and El Fuerte; his wife Herminia "Minia" Cota Urias; and his siblings, Angela Soto Diaz, Consuelo Soto Diaz, Juvencio Soto Diaz, Santiago Soto Diaz and Guadalupe Soto Diaz.
He is survived by: his children, Jesenia Mendoza (Eric) of Marshalltown, Joel Soto (Belen) of Marshalltown, Rosa Soto of Mexico and Fabiola Soto of Mexico; and his brother Miguel Soto Diaz (Lupita Cital). He is also survived by eight grandsons, two granddaughters; ten great-grandchildren.
