We bid farewell to Jerome Peters of Marne, Iowa, born in Atlantic, Iowa, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on August 15, 2024 at the age of 86. Jerome touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, G. Bruce Peters and A. Gwendolyn Peters (Trailer); his sister Loretta; his brother-in-law Bill Baker; his brother Daniel Peters; his in-laws, Glenn and Mabel Schmitt; and his siblings-in-law, Elmer Schmitt (Bud), Mary Ann McMurphy (Schmitt), Franklin D. Schmitt, Olena Jensen (Schmitt), Lee Schmitt, Betty Yarger (Schmitt), John Schmitt and David Schmitt.

He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Peters (Schmitt); his children, Bruce Peters (Marie) and Cynthia Jensen (Dustin); his grandchildren, Samantha Hague (Dusty), Garrett Collier, Morgan Haggard, Tyrel Peters (Kyra), Kyler Jacobs, Jolene Yoder (Jonathan), Mateya Baca (Taylor), Gaige Gourley (Lexi), Elly Peters and Kadie Horwedel; his great grandchildren, Kendall, Sloan, Weston Hague and Grayson Gourley; and his siblings-in-law, Violet Provo (Schmitt) of Minneapolis, Shirley Schmitt of Marne, Kathy Schmitt (Darrow) of Glenwood, Della Harrah (Schmitt) of Shelbyville, Jesse, Joe and Jeanie Schmitt of Walnut. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many other beloved extended family members and friends.
