He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Winkowski and Katherine Winkowski (Gray). He is survived by: his wife Susan (DeMarchi); his children, James Winkowski and Kelly Nachman (Jim); his grandchildren, Lauren Grover (Matt), Jacob Nachman (Morgan), Tyler Nachman and Katie Nachman; his great grandchild Amelia Grover; and his siblings, Kay Allen and Keith Winkowski (Erin). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be given to the Family Caregivers Center, 9000 C. Avenue, Marion, Iowa or Oldorf Hospice House.
