It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ruth Vera Hess of Marion, Iowa, born in Traer, Iowa, who passed away on March 30, 2024, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John David and Emma Lavina Welton (Harder); her husband Miles Hess; and her siblings, Henry, Floyd Smittcamp, Russell Welton, Barbara Diggs (Tom) and Joyce Skinner.
She is survived by: her sons, Michael Hess Sr. (Julie) of Faribault and Mark Hess (Deb) of Marion; her grandchildren, Michael Hess Jr. (Heather), Joel Hess (Amanda), Melissa Finn (Mike) and Doug Hess; her great grandchildren, Destiny, Blayze, Ariana, Sydney, Alex Hess, Shane (Adriane Cole), Emily, Ryan and Reagan Finn; and her sister Diana Pennington.
