He was predeceased by: his parents, Rex Sr. Parsons and Josephine Parsons (Freese); his grandson Jesse Huggins; and his sister Linda Bethards. He is survived by: his wife Sandy Parsons; his children, R. J. Parsons (Natalie) of Indianola, Chris Hopkins of Runnells and Terry Parsons (Keren) of Maine; his grandchildren, Tyler Hopkins (Brittany), Amanda Jondle (Anthony), Lindsey Parsons (Roy Obregon), Austin Parsons and Dylan Parsons; his brother Earl Parsons of Des Moines, Iowa; and his daughter-in-law Julie Olson (Loren) of Marion. He is also survived by three great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 21st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service (3855 Katz Dr, Marion, IA 52302). A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, April 22nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
