He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Bendixen and Nellie Bendixen (Swenson); his grandson Matthias Herman; his brother Marshall; his sister-in-law Helen Bendixen; and his niece Diane Natzel.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Bendixen of Marion; his children, Paulette Bendixen of Sydney, Pamela Herman (Philip) of Des Moines and Thomas Bendixen (Brandi) of Marion; and his grandchildren, Austin Brown, Valerie Brown, Josiah Herman, Abigail Herman, Nathanael Herman, Kaylan Herman, Lucy Herman, Lauren Bendixen and Tyler Bendixen.
