He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Sperfslage and Magdaline Sperfslage (Eike); his parent-in-law Gene Root (Berniece); his siblings, Dorothy Ann, Jimmy, Lawerence, Richard and Harold Sperfslage; his brother-in-law Gary Root; and his granddaughter Ashley Sperfslage.
He is survived by: his wife Sharron; his children, Mark Sperfslage, Jeff Sperfslage (Karen) of Marion, Bill Sperfslage (Caren) of Prairieburg, Sheila Kirby (Ed) of Anamosa and Dave Sperfslage of Anamosa; his siblings, Francis Sperfslage of Edgewood, Eugene Sperfslage (Janet) of Marion, Tom Sperfslage (Lou) of Central City, Iowa and Viola (Clifford Bentley) of Shueyville, Iowa; and his sisters-in-law, Alice Sperfslage of Strawberry Point and Lucy Sperfslage of Ames, Iowa.. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 21st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Papich Kuba Funeral Home (1228 2nd St SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52401). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Saint Wenceslaus Catholic Church (1224 5th St SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52401).
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
