She was predeceased by: her parents, Vincent J. Challberg and Harriet M. Challberg (Martens); and her parents-in-law, George and Harriett Calkins. She is survived by: her husband Gary Calkins of Marion; her daughters, Jennifer Johnson (Jeremy) of Marion, Kelly Calkins of Marion and Shay Owings of Cedar Rapids; her grandchildren, Parker Johnson, Elijah Johnson, Griffin Owings and Maverick Owings; her sister Laura Challberg of Davenport; and her caregiver Deb. She is also survived by several nieces, a nephew.
