He is survived by: his wife Catherine McQuillen of Patrick's Church; his children, Michael McQuillen (Dana) of Urbandale, Mary Burger (Chris) of Johnston and Mona Estes (Dan) of Cedar Rapids; his grandchildren, Sarah Murphy (Kevin), Shannon Williams, John "Jack" Burger and Claire Burger; and his great grandchildren, Brooks and Olivia Murphy.
