He was predeceased by: his great-grandparents, Hershel and Charlotte Nixon; and his grandmother Kimberly Jibben (Joshua Reyes). He is survived by: his parents, Johnnie Lyndell Choate Jr. and Courtney Lynn Rankin of Marion; his sisters, Paisley Rankin and Huntlee Choate; his grandfathers, Jimmy Rankin of Ponder, Texas and Mike "Papa" Jibben of Marion; his great-grandparents, Dale and Esther Lewis; his godparents, Dalton and Kaile Wyant; his aunts and uncles, Haleigh Rankin of Anthony, Meehan, Justin Rankin, Mason Yudizky and Linda Jibben; and his great-aunt Kimberly Rankin (Michael Hewett). He is also survived by extended family members including many cousins.
Memorials in Cakey's memory may be made to the family to be designated later.
