He was predeceased by: his father Irving; his wife Barbara Ann Petrak; his daughter Jeannine M. Schierholz; his sisters, Fay Marfilious (Louie) and Beverly Suckow; and his brothers-in-law, Jerry Trimble and J. C. Petrak.
He is survived by: his son Steven Dean Schierholz of Marion; his grandchildren, Lacy McCullough, Tyler Dean Schierholz and Colbie Diane Schierholz; his sister Wanda Check; and his sisters-in-law, Beverly Trimble and Christine Petrak. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
