He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Byal of Marion; his sons, Derrick Byal of Cedar Rapids and Daniel Byal of Maquoketa, Iowa; his grandson Daniel Byal of Cedar Rapids; his brother William "Bill" Byal; his parents-in-law, George and Margaret Hill; and his siblings-in-law, Marjorie Pierce (Gene), Wilma Hill and Harvey Hill (Myrna).
