She was predeceased by: her parents, Melvin Gust and Vella Gust (Burington); and her husband Carl Edward Nus of Arlington. She is survived by: her children, Ted (Susan) of Ankeny, IA, John M. (Mary) of Hiawatha, IA, Paul (Andrea) of Cedar Rapids, IA and Jennifer Yarrow (Chris) of Cedar Falls, IA.; her grandchildren, Katherine, Laura, Jeremiah (Molly), Kendall Nus and Emma Yarrow; her stepgranddaughters, Katelyn Bro (Wes), Jaclyn Vandersee and Kelsey Schmitz; and her brothers, Richard Gust (Dorothy) of Shreveport, LA, Roger Gust (Doris) of Pendleton, IN and Gene Gust of Freeport, FL. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the New City Church (5335 Midway Dr NW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52405). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to New City Church missions or a cause meaningful to your faith, reflecting how Carol lived her life.
