Lori L. Sykes Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Lori L. Sykes of Marengo, Iowa, born in Vinton, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 11, 2025 at the age of 61. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Clarence LeRoy and Ruby Jean Mollenhauer (Coberly); her close friend Jim Gorsch; her children, Brittany York (Dustin) of Belle Plaine, Logan Gorsch (Shyanna) of Marengo and Travis Gorsch of Des Moines; her grandchild Colter James Gorsch (Clarence L. Mollenhauer Sr.); her siblings, Julie Fife (Stephen) of Des Moines, Clarence Mollenhauer Jr. of Gig Harbor, WA, Marsha Reihmann (Eric) of High Amana and Darlene Mollenhauer; and her sister-in-law Jeanie Mollenhauer. She was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 18th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Powell Funeral Homes - Marengo (298 W Washington St, Marengo, IA 52301). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 19th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:45 AM at the First United Methodist Church (895 Court Ave, Marengo, IA 52301).
In Lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for Safe Haven of Iowa County.
