He was predeceased by: his parents, John Sturtz and Elsie Sturtz (Henkle); his brothers-in-law, Kenneth Karsten and Mitchell Campbell; and his great-nephews, Eric Karsten and Nathan Campbell.
He is survived by: his siblings, LaVonne Karsten of Marengo, Emma Mae Campbell of North English and Delbert Sturtz (Diane) of Cedar Rapids. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
