He was predeceased by: his parents, William Updike and Erma Mae Updike (Adams); his wife Glenda Jean Igou; his granddaughter Kristina Updike; and his son-in-law Doug Vondraska.
He is survived by: his children, Dawn Updike (Steve) of Aurelia, IA, Roger Updike, Jr. (Brenda) of Spencer, IA, Teresa Updike of Sioux City, IA, Michelle Nelson (Cliff) of Cherokee, IA, Sherry Vondraska of Spencer, IA and Ricki Updike (Sarah) of Sheldon, IA; his grandchildren, Tiffany Updike (Roger) of Cherokee, IA, Tera Updike of Cherokee, IA, Kimberly Updike (John) of Royal, IA, Rebecca Updike (Rhys) of Hartley, IA, Jessica Updike (Angelo) of Sioux City, IA, Jeffery Updike (Marissa) of Remsen, IA, Tamecia Persons of Albert City, IA, Jasmin Nelson (Blake) of Carroll, IA, Kayla Bush (Aaron) of Aurelia, IA, Christopher Nelson (Cassie) of Meriden, IA, Colby Nelson (Emma) of Everly, IA, Dustin Miller of Marcus, IA, Samantha Miller (Jimmy) of Le Mars, IA, Andrew Miller of Sioux City, IA, Alexandria Donahue (Jordan) of Sheldon, IA and Justice Bernston of Sioux City, IA; his siblings, Bill Updike (Linda) of Lakefield, MN, Ann Adams of British Columbia and Janet Gubine of Fairmont, MN; and his parents-in-law, Sharon Sleik of Iron Mountain, MI and Gale Igou of Spencer, IA.
