With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Maxine Ferne Ewald (Marble Rock, Iowa), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 24, 2025 at the age of 96. As Maxine Ferne departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Maxine Ferne may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Maxine Ferne leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob Bok and Medora De Bok (Ahrens); her husband Maynard "Mike" Ewald; her son Michael; and her sister June Smaga.
She is survived by: her daughter Cristal; and her friend June Mohn of Texas.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 2nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Marble Rock United Methodist Church (208 Iowa St, Marble Rock, IA 50653). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
