He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Lawrence Fier and Arlene Fier (Lindstrom); his wife Christie Fier of Maquoketa, IA; his children, Emily Walsh (Mark), Travis Gavin (Michelle) and Kelly Taylor; his grandchildren, Alexis Borushaski (Gunnar), Travis Walsh (Janna), Avery Gavin, Paisley Gavin, Sydney Taylor, Bryce Taylor and Ryley Galloway; his great grandchildren, Markus Borushaski and Liam Borushaski; and his siblings, Gary Fier (Marianne) of Clinton, IA, Al Fier (Cindy) of Maquoketa, IA, Linda Peck of Clinton, IA, Kathy Kunde (Don) of Maquoketa, IA and Shelley Heinrich (Joe) of Maquoketa, IA.

Visitation was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church (200 S Vermont St, Maquoketa, IA 52060). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 10:30 AM at the same location.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a Patrick W. "Pat" Fier memorial fund has been established.
