He was predeceased by: his parents, Emerson Crist and Anna Crist (Goldsmith); and his siblings, Robert, Verilyn, Maxine Gilmore and Dorothy White.
He is survived by: his wife Aljean Brown of Monmouth; and his daughters, Barbara Reigert (Dwight) of Oregon, Linda Merchie of Wyoming, IA, Vicki Ratajesak of California and Kathryn Wylie (James) of Maquoketa, IA. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and five step-great grandchildren.
