She was predeceased by: her parents, Edward Kelly and Genevieve Kelly (Mahoney); her husband Paul Thompson; her daughter Mary "Paulette" Dillavou; her granddaughter Sarah Jennings; and her siblings, Dick, Bob, Mary Evelyn, Betty, Elaine and Virginia.

She is survived by: her children, Tom Thompson (Jeri), Roberta Henely (Denny), Colleen Simmer (Robert), Mike Thompson (Cindy), Beth Jennings (Jim), Bob Thompson (Heather), Larry Thompson (Kim), Patrick Thompson and Milissa Whitehurst; and her son-in-law Pat Dillavou. She is also survived by 29 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to MercyOne North Iowa Hospice in Mason City.
