He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Jansen and Irene Jansen; and his brothers, Randall Jansen and Mark Jansen. He is survived by: his siblings, Curt Jansen and Marilyn Jansen; his nephew Scott Jansen; his niece Sheila; his great-niece Kylie; his great-nephew Brandon; his nephew Matt Jansen; his niece Gina; his great-niece Zoe; his great-nephew Dylan; his nieces and nephews, Seth Jansen and Maria-Elana; his great-nephew Evan; and his nieces and nephews, Lucas Jansen, Janet, Kristina Woods, Caleb and Lily Jansen.
It was his wish the bulk of his collection be donated to the University of Iowa Stanley Museum of Art in Iowa City and the Des Moines Art Center.
