It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Michael W. Smith of Manly, Iowa, born in Akron, Iowa, who passed away on November 5, 2021, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Eldon Smith and Wilma Smith (Heyl). He is survived by: his wife Vicky Dierks; his children, Wade Smith (Tracy) of New Jersey, Wendy Oetken (Lance) of Alton, IA, Kelly Smith (Robert Goldsberry) of Hudson, IA and Kerry Smith (Todd Chandler) of Sevierville, TN; his grandchildren, Noah, Hailey Smith, Olivia Oetken and Alyssa Smith; and his sister Marlene Dietrich of Akron, IA. He is also survived by numerous extended family members and cherished friends.

Memorials may be directed to the Edward Tosel American Legion Post 110 in Manly, IA.
