It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George William Hargis (Manly, Iowa), born in Ida Grove, Iowa, who passed away on January 10, 2021, at the age of 100, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hargis and Pricilla Hargis (Brown); his wife Beverly Jean Hopfe; his son Bill; his daughter-in-law Joan Hargis; and his siblings, Mabel McIlwain, Zora Crane, Dwane Hargis, Betty Athey, John Jr. Hargis, Irene Dorman and Roger Hargis.
He is survived by: his children, Pam Hargis (Dave Albright), Jo Ellen Hargis (Todd Hipp) and Jeff Hargis; his grandchildren, Scott Black (Jackson), Peter Hargis (Amy), Mark Hargis (Jennie), Allison Wigley (Craig), Amanda and Jordan Hargis; his great grandchildren, Annie Black, Mateo Hargis, Waylon Black, Luke Hargis, Lauren Wigley, Emilia Hargis, Megan Wigley, JThomas Hargis and Paul Hargis; and his sister-in-law Lois Freeburg-Requa. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
