He was predeceased by: his parents, Christian Brodersen and Elly Brodersen (Hintz) of Manly, IA.; his brother Ervin; and his siblings-in-law, Rosemary and Darrell Arendts.
He is survived by: his wife Marolyn Backhaus; his children, Craig Brodersen (Julie), Vickie Brodersen, Kathy Harris (Randy), Mike Brodersen (Carrie) and Holly Miller (Mark); his grandchildren, Diedre Brodersen, Ben Brodersen, Lindsey Brodersen (Jeni), Matthew Brodersen (Ashley), Megan Lafler (Cody), Mark Brodersen (Courtney), Ean and Bennett Miller; and his great grandchildren, Lila, Drake, Hank, Blake and Logann.
The family requests that masks be worn and social distancing guidelines be followed.
In lieu of customary remembrances, family suggests that memorials may be directed to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
