It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lois Loretta Fortman of Manchester, Iowa, born in Coggon, Iowa, who passed away on April 11, 2024, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Leo Gudenkauf and Marie Gudenkauf (Jaeger); her son Arnie Fortman; her siblings, Mary Hoeger (Jerry), Virginia Kelchen (Phil), Kathleen Hogan and Vernon Gudenkauf (Joan); and her brother-in-law Wally Lux.
She is survived by: her husband Omer Fortman of Manchester; her children, Donna Gibbs (Calvin) of Delhi, Karen Kruse (Gary) of Dyersville, Kenny Fortman (Vicki) of Manchester and Roger Fortman of Manchester; her daughter-in-law Janet Fortman of Decorah; her siblings, Jeanette Steffen of Peosta, Janet Pottebaum (Bob) of Manchester and Richard Gudenkauf (Sharon) of Dyersville; and her brother-in-law Dick Hogan. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren.
