With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Gerald LeMoyne Smith of Manchester, Iowa, born in Rock Island, Illinois, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 19, 2024 at the age of 79. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gerald, Sr. Smith and Abbie Smith (Dripps); and his brother-in-law Duane Mangold. He is survived by: his siblings, William "Bill" Smith and Sue Mangold of Vinton; his nieces and nephews, Billy Smith (Catia), Joshua Smith (Frances), Stefanie Smith, Brittany Smith, Courtney Smith, Jeff Mangold (Maggie), Jason Mangold (Sarah) and Jill Beecher (Nick); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Georgia, Abbie, Colton, Hugh, Reid, Theo, Javan, Anna, Nora, Brant, Wesley, Wyatt, William, Garrett and Brayden; and his cousins, Sandy Darting of Wilton, Vicki Lenker of Wilton and Jack Brenner (Deb) of Wilton.
The family requests that memorials be made to the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Manchester, or to the charity of your choice.
