He was predeceased by: his parents, Nieman Maurer and Marian Maurer (Carpenter); and his brothers, Dean and Charles Maurer. He is survived by: his wife Gail Maurer of Manchester; his children, Kathy Meisgeier (Dennis) of Manchester, Curtis Maurer (Mary) of Manchester and Karen Collins of Urbandale; his grandchildren, Nathan Meisgeier (Melissa) of Maplewood, Taylor Martinez (Primo) of El Paso, Sarah Maurer of Manchester, Matt Maurer (Krista Briggs) of Manchester, Allison Curnow (Ross) of Johnston and Zoe Wilson (Andrew) of New York; his great grandchildren, Kathryn and Madelyn Meisgeier of Maplewood, Minnesota; his siblings, Rosemary Herrington of Cedar Rapids and Randy Maurer (Marla) of Manchester; and his sisters-in-law, Jean Maurer of Delhi, Martha Maurer of Peosta and Nadine Maring (Blaine) of Austin, Texas. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
