He was predeceased by: his parents, Eunice Raak (Menning) and G. Dennis Raak; his parents-in-law, Alvin and Laura Ortgies (Caspers); his brother-in-law John Ortgies; and his nephew Phillip Ortgies.
He is survived by: his wife Julie Ortgies; his children, Eric Raak (Kristy Schwan), Paul Raak (Amber) and Laura Van Loh (Dan); his grandchildren, Megan Galvin, Jackson Van Loh, Gregory, Isabelle and Isaac Raak; his sisters, Marlene Raak, Lora Haug (Roger), Sandra Langstrat (Roger) and Rachel Gunderson (Lynn); and his siblings-in-law, Richard Ortgies and Ruth Engelken. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
