He was predeceased by: his parents, Claud Whitaker and Pearl Whitaker (Scott); his wife Toletha Whitaker; and his siblings, Floyd Whitaker (Lucille), Lyle Whitaker (Gladys), Roy Whitaker (Doris) and Ruth Filby (Alvin).
He is survived by: his children, Tony Whitaker of Iowa City, Debra Clute (John) of Ames, Jody Holloway of Carrollton, TX, Chris McDowell (Dan) of Manchester and DeAnn Hennigs (Mark) of St. Joseph, MN; his grandchildren, Khyle Clute (Kirstin), Kienan Clute (Christine), Casey Clute, Harris Holloway, Gretchen Anderson (Scott), Jeromie McDowell, Racheal Nodurft (Kyle), Jacob Hennigs, Erik Hennigs and Jared Hennigs; and his sister-in-law Geraldine Winkie. He is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Carl's memory may be directed to the family.
