He was predeceased by: his parents, John Welcher and Mary Welcher (Holland); his wife Donna Welcher; his son Scott Welcher; his grandson Wade Welcher; and his great grandchild Emma Welcher.
He is survived by: his children, Larry Welcher (Denice) of Waterloo and Vickie Beatty (Mike) of Manchester; and his grandchildren, Matt Welcher, Travis Welcher, Brett Welcher (Mikki), Brad Welcher (Amy), Mary Jo Welcher (Travis Olson), Chad Welcher, Chris Welcher, Jamie Welcher, Tyler Welcher, Tim Beatty (Nikki) and Mark Beatty (Nicole Christ). He is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
