She was predeceased by: her parents, Duane DeShaw and Carrie DeShaw (Besler); her stepmother Virginia DeShaw; her husband Roger McIntosh; her son Doug; her siblings, Duane Jr. DeShaw (Luella), Francis DeShaw, Roger DeShaw, Ella Mae Wernimont and Jacqueline DeShaw; and her sister-in-law Bernadine DeShaw.
She is survived by: her children, Kay Vifian (Vic) of Garnavillo, Jane Kewley (Jerry) of Hurst and Mark McIntosh (Kim) of Cedar Rapids; her grandchildren, Shana, Brian, Tyler Vifian, Elizabeth, Lauren and Breanna Kewley; her siblings, Sharon Meyer, Robert DeShaw of Hopkinton, Steve DeShaw (Lyda) of Anamosa, Lee DeShaw (Gale) of Hopkinton, Gary DeShaw (Deb) of Elkader, Larry DeShaw (Connie) of Strawberry Point and Earl DeShaw (Joann) of Arlington; and her sister-in-law Donna Rae DeShaw of Elkader. She is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family to create a memorial in Betty's name.
