He was predeceased by: his wife Linda Ioma Hopkins; and his brother James Darnold. He is survived by: his children, David Darnold, Dean Darnold of Malvern and Doreen Tackett (Elliott) of Council Bluffs, IA; and his brother Francis Darnold (Connie) of Malvern.
