He was predeceased by : his father Donald Schutz (Rasmussen). He is survived by : his wife Dorothy Evelyn Montag of Mallard; his children, Tracy Schutz (Steve Brown) of Mallard, Tom Schutz (Michael Maxey) of Bennington, NE, Donald Schutz (Roseann) of Manchester and Tera Schutz of Corwith; and his sisters, Donita Hellickson of Curlew, Kim Robbins of Mallard and Kay Lurvey of Mallard.

Visitation was held on Thursday, June 20th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lentz Funeral Home - Mallard (409 6th St, Mallard, IA 50562). A funeral service was held on Friday, June 21st 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM at the same location.
