It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Joseph Grethen of Mallard, Iowa, who passed away on December 31, 2024, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harley Grethen and Charlotte Grethen (Perrigo); his siblings, Jerome and Anita; and his parents-in-law, Norman and Emilie Clark.
He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Clark of Mallard, IA; his children, Chris (Lakeisha), Amelia, Ella, Iris and Oakley of Emmetsburg; his close friends, Brian Ruppert (Amanda) of Curlew and Kent Bachman (Kelli) of Ames; his sisters, Diana Stafford (Richard) of Mallard, Carol Grethen of Des Moines and Nancy Frerk (Jay) of Mallard; and his sister-in-law Kelly Grethen of Ashland, MO. He is also survived by nephews and nieces.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Lentz Funeral Home - Mallard (409 6th St, Mallard, IA 50562). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, January 8th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM at the same location.
