He was predeceased by: his parents, Hugh Phipps and Charlotte Phipps (Adams); his wife Marlys Westgate; and his siblings, Dean and Doris.
He is survived by: his children, Harold Phipps (Dawn) of Polk City and Janine Seibert (Jon) of Fort Myers, Florida; his grandchildren, Cortney Edwards (Jimmy) of Mission Hills, Kansas and Colin Seibert (Samantha); his great grandchild Miles of Chicago, Illinois; his stepgrandson Andy Gerleman (Brookly); and his great grandchildren, Harmony, Ava and Zoe of Des Moines. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Alzheimer's research at Indiana State University Division of Hereditary Genomics, 410 West Tenth Street, Fourth Floor, Indianapolis, IN 46202.
