He was predeceased by: his parents, Ludolph Zylstra and Joann Lanser Zylstra; his sister Karma Lisk; and his in-laws, Dean and Retha Lewis.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Lewis (Dot) of Lynnville; his children, Kara Vander Beek (Joel) of Pleasant Hill and Matthew Zylstra (Heather) of Lynnville; his grandchildren, Noah Zylstra (Ashley), Lakewood, Sage Zylstra, Shykira Baarda, Camden Baarda, Lily Zylstra, Teryn and Jaxden Vander Beek; his great grandchildren, Eleanor, Murphy Zylstra and Lakewood; his siblings, Terry Zylstra (Linda), Fonda Benson (Dave), Joani Hasley (Norvel) and Hiawassee; and his siblings-in-law, Don Lewis (Shirley), Millie Van Solen and Phyl Beierle (Bruce).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family to be determined at a later date.
